Research Interests
Geotechnical/Structural Engineering, with emphasis in Earthquake Engineering; Computer Vision and Information Technology. Specific research activities include: seismic performance evaluation through both numerical and experimental simulation of (i) shallow and deep (pile) foundations supported on stable and unstable ground conditions, including foundation rehabilitation strategies and (ii) structural and nonstructural components and systems; (iii) integration of visualization methods in earthquake engineering, and (iv) development of image-based methods for detection, monitoring and classification of damage.
