Shamsher Prakash Foundation was established in 1988 in India and in 1989 in USA. It has fourfold programs.

GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING
The Foundation offers annual "Research Awards" and "Prizes" to young engineers, scientists and researchers, who are specialists in Geotechnical Engineering and/or Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering and show promise of Excellence. Each Award and prize is US $1100 each and a plaque.

YOGA
Yoga has proven very effective in relieving both physical and Mental stress and tension. The Foundation arranges Free classes, Lectures, Talks and Workshops for YOGA for prevention of disease, and for physical fitness, healing and mental and spiritual happiness. The Foundation has published a book, "INTRODUCTION TO PREVENTION AND YOGA" and "EVERY DAY PRANAYAM FOR EVERY BODY", by Shamsher Prakash, an Expert in Yoga for over 46 years (2008). Dr. Prakash offers free lectures and workshops on yoga worldwide by invitation. Please Contact him to arrange a lecture and/or workshop at your place.

PEACE
The Shamsher Prakash Foundation sponsors essay competition for 7th thru 12th grade on "Peace". The foundation holds "Peace" lectures. In 1999 the speaker was Dr.McGiness of St.Louis, Missouri. In 2008-2009, we are inviting Arun Gandhi, Director, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Peace, Memphis(TN).

EDUCATION
SP Foundation has started a School for children of migrant labor in Khet Pralli, a village about one hour from Chandigarh. They are learning alphabet, numbers, arithmetic, and more importantly hygiene, civic sense, and to respect elders and become good citizens when they grow up. All supplies for school work are provided to them for free. Also, they are provided two dresses a year, one for summers and one for winters. The number of children is fluctuating. This is the third year of this school. We have hired 3-teachers for this school at this time. (Jan 2008). Another school is being planned.

MOBILE LIBRARY
A mobile library for children is planned for HP/Haryana soon.
