2011 SHALINI AND DR. SHAMSHER PRAKASH PRIZE FOR CREATIVE DESIGN(IITR)

First Prize     :  INR 20,000

INRODUCTION:

The future of a country is in the hands of the young. This is a small opportunity to bring out the best in science and engineering in our young people in India.

RULES:

The competition is open to only full time undergraduate students, in any discipline from all Engineering schools in IndiaThe subject of competition is open in any discipline of science and engineering. The students are advised to prepare a design proposal and submit their entry by May 31, 2011. Please send a soft copy ,single PDF file only not to exceed 2MB size , for each entry which must include the following in described order:

  1. Cover Page which must include name(s) of the candidate(s),complete postal address, and E-mail address of Candidate(s)
  2. Name, address of your Director/ Principal, and teacher/s guiding you, with their Email address on the cover page
  3. Topic of the Project
  4. Name of the school/college with complete postal address
  5. Project Details
  6. Any other relevant information which you think might be useful

CRITERIA FOR WINNERS

Genuine new idea, with emphasis on creativity and simplicity. Target lowest cost/performance ratio including energy, accessibility, safety, specialization vis-à-vis universalization, utilization of natural resources where possible, universal design concept and flexibility and versatility in use. Emphasis is on creativity and simplicity. All original submissions are valuable.

JUDGING

A Judging Committee of international experts will be appointed in each discipline, in which the entries are received. The winning design will be announced by August 31, 2011. Arrangements will be made to award the prize/s at a suitable function in Roorkee.
